ELEVEN drivers have been caught by police speeding in Bovey Tracey today.

The town’s neighbourhood policing team were out with speed detection equipment checking vehicles in Le Molly Littry Way. 

Today’s operation follows several weeks of working on ways to reduce speed in Bovey Tracey as well as Chudleigh, Liverton and Ashburton. 

A spokesman said: ‘Over the past weeks we have been out engaging, explaining and educating speeding motorists about the risks of speeding particularly in or close to a residential area.

‘Speeding is one of what we call the fatal five which are the main causes of injury and death on our highways.

‘Today was about enforcement, 11 drivers will be receiving a fine and points or the offer of taking a speed awareness course at their expense for speeding in Le Molay Littry Way in Bovey Tracey.’
