A DARTMOOR restaurant has been named among the best in the UK as Harden’s Best UK Restaurants for 2026 is published.

A five-star hotel, Gidleigh Park, near Chagford, came thirty fourth in Harden’s Top 100 UK Restaurants.

The restaurant currently holds one Michelin Star and three rosettes from the AA.

It gained prestige with Michael Caines as head chef, and later executive head chef, from 1994 until 2016.

Publishing print, online and mobile reviews, the esteemed restaurant guide draws upon thousands of customer submitted reports to compile its annual guide.

The London guide was first published in 1991, before the the UK-wide guide took off in 1998.
