BUSINESSES, charities and community groups can sign up for a free cybercrime awareness course delivered by Devon & Cornwall Police.

The face-to-face presentations are designed to raise general awareness concerning on-line crime and promote the many preventative measures that are available for individuals and organisations to help protect them from becoming a victim.

Online fraud, also known as cyber crime, covers all crimes that: take place online; are committed using computers, or are assisted by online technology.

Several million cases of fraud and of computer misuse are reported to the police every year.
