THE War Memorial in Newton Abbot saw a large crowd of people surround it this morning, as people came together for a short service to mark Remembrance Day.
Close to one hundred people gathered at the War Memorial, the fences of which are adorned with more than 500 hand-knitted poppies, to remember those who lost their lives.
There will be a Remembrance Service on Sunday, November 13. Proceedings will begin at 10am in Courtenay Street with an assembly for the 10.30am parade to the War Memorial.
