A NEWTON Abbot man who failed to take a breath test has been banned from driving for 17 months.

Christopher Rideout, aged 33, of Tudor Road, admitted he failed to provide a breath specimen when suspected of having driven in Bournemouth. He was banned for 17 months, which may be reduced by 17 weeks if he completes a course. He was ordered to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and  £34 to fund victim services.

Rideout also admitted driving without insurance and his driving record was endorsed. He also admitted a driving licence offence.
