A DAWLISH man has admitted having a knuckleduster during an incident in the town.
Jonathan Bowditch, aged 52, of Park Road, admitted having the offensive weapon in Longlands on November 31 last year.
He also admitted a second count of possessing the same weapon at his home on the same day.
Exeter Crown Court was told he was arrested after police were called to an incident at Meadow Rise that day and he was found with the knuckleduster.
Judge David Evans remanded him in custody and adjourned sentence pending a probation report.
He told him he is liable to a mandatory six months sentence because it was his second weapons offence. He said the final sentence would depend on the contents of the report.
Mr Nigel Wraith, prosecuting, said a charge of affray which relates to the same events is not being pursued but the facts behind it will be considered as aggravating the weapons offence.
Mr Malcolm Salloway, defending, said a probation report will provide information about Bowditch and explain the background to these offences.
