A COMMUNITY order and restraining order have been made against a man who entered a Kingsteignton home as a trespasser with intent to steal.

Ryan James Davies, aged 51, of Lyndale Road, Kingsteignton, admitted the charge when he appeared before South and West Devon Magistrates' Court.

He also admitted causing £25 worth of damage to a rug belonging to a woman at the Kingsteignton address.

Under the community order Davies must have treatment for alcohol dependency for six months and take part in up to 20 days of activity under a rehabilitation activity requirement. He was fined £100and must pay £40 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and £114 to fund victim services. He must also pay £25 compensation.

A restraining order was also made not to contact a woman at the Kingsteignton address where the offences took place.

Davies also admitted stealing a purse and £15 from a woman at another Kingsteignton address.
