AN oven, saucepan and a woodland... it was a busy weekend for fire crews across Teignbridge.

Newton Abbot Fire Station sent an appliance to Bishopsteignton on Sunday following reports of a burning smell from a property in the village, which turned out to be an oven on fire.

The cause of this fire was believed to be accidental, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.

Elsewhere on Sunday, fire control mobilised crew from Middlemoor and Danes Castle to a report of smoke inside an Exminster property.

After carrying out investigations, crews confirmed a saucepan, and the contents therein, was ablaze.

Again, the cause of the fire was accidental.

And finally, Buckfastleigh Fire Station were called to Ausewell Wood.

A small fire, the second in the past week, had broken out at the wood, which lies between Ashburton and Buckland in the Moor, on Saturday evening [August 16].
