CHILDREN at Ipplepen Primary School went back in time for their history week.

Events during the week culminated in the awarding of the Arthur French Memorial Trophy.

Awarded annually to the pupil who produces the best piece of historical research, this year’s winner was Oli Roberts of Year 4 for his study of medieval medicine.

The theme this year was medicine through the ages, with Roman and Greek approaches to medicine as well as several year groups concentrating on female scientists.

Certificates went to the best pupil in each year group and the winner were presented with their prizes by John Marsh from Ipplepen History Group.
