THE average time it took for police to respond domestic burglaries has been revealed.
In 2024, there were 272 ‘emergency incidents’, 269 of which the police attended with a median response time of eight minutes and 28 seconds, a Freedom of Information (FOI) request has shown.
The police responded to 354 of the total 361 priority incidents last year, with a median response time of 49 minutes and 45 seconds.
Devon and Cornwall Police aim to attend emergency incidents within 20 minutes, and priority incidents within one hour.
By comparison, in 2023, the force attended 285 emergency incidents, with a median response time of just over 7 minutes.
Priority incidents, on the other hand, saw an average response time of one hour and 15 minutes.
