BOVEY Tracey’s fire crew have just posted details of their hectic Sunday callouts to a crash, a woman trapped in a golf cart and a house fire.
The busy Sunday afternoon saw Bovey Tracey mobilised to three incidents in quick succession.
They report on their Facebook page: ‘Our first shout was to an overturned golf cart at a local holiday park with reports of a woman still trapped.
‘On arrival, the driver was medically trapped within the small vehicle so crews used small tools and cutting equipment to gain access to her and were able to move her out safely using a stretcher.
‘First aid and oxygen was administered while crews waited for the arrival of paramedics. The female casualty was then transported to hospital via land ambulance.
‘Firefighters had just left the station when our second job was called in.
‘Crews worked together using small tools to access the engine compartment and used absorbing pads to prevent oil and fuel leaking into nearby drains.
‘The Bovey crew were still cleaning and servicing their kit and equipment when the klaxons went down for their third shout.
‘Ashburton was the destination to reports of a house fire.
‘Once again, our colleagues from Ashburton were already in attendance and using dry powder to extinguish a small electrical fire within a domestic property.
‘In the evening, our main appliance along with our Ranger attended Bovey Tracey’s Christmas Drive alongside others from the local community. The lights and festive atmosphere were very well received and the crew were very happy to be involved.’
