ACROSS four venues, the Teignmouth Open Bowls Tournament took place for a 96th year earlier this month.
The Den, Bitton Park, Shaldon and for the first time, Abbrook Park, were the clubs to play host.
In spite of the poor weather, over 300 bowlers entered from more than 70 clubs, the most ever. Thanks to the sponsors, the prize pool is on the way up too, totalling over £7,500 this time around.
Throughout the week, there were seven different competitions taking place.
It kicked off on the Sunday with the mixed pairs needing to be spread across three different venues. The following day, the open triples got underway and following on were open singles, phoenix singles, ladies’ pairs and men’s pairs.
The tournament came to a close on the Saturday with the U25 singles bringing down the curtain on the whole event.
It was fantastic to see so many people participate and spectate!
