VOLUNTEERS and staff from Dartmoor National Park Authority joined forces with Natural England to bring some festive cheer to visitors to Yarner Wood, Dartmoor.

Staff from both organisations got together on Saturday, December 10, to mark the 70th anniversary of East Dartmoor being designated as a National Nature Reserve.

More than 60 people joined the team for a guided walk with a difference – the guides were dressed as pantomime characters to put on an eco-inspired performance of Robin Hood and Goldilocks.

There was plenty of audience participation, silliness and bad jokes to entertain the crowds served up with a message about caring for our precious magical woodlands.

Dartmoor National Park’s Outreach and Interpretation Officer Andy Bailey said: ‘Using drama and playfulness in this way means we can reach audiences who might not traditionally come out to Dartmoor.

‘A huge thank you to the team and all the volunteers who helped make this such a fantastic event.’
