VAN was severely damaged when it caught fire in Teignmouth yesterday (Thursday) evening.
Fire Control received a call from a member of the public just before 6pm as a vehicle was on fire on Holcombe Down Road, Teignmouth.
A Fire Control spokesperson said: ‘A fire engine from Teignmouth attended the incident. On arrival crews confirmed the transit van was well alight and immediately asked a second fire engine (from Dawlish) to provide additional water.
‘Crews got to work with a thermal imaging camera, two breathing apparatus, two jets and used a local hydrant to extinguish the fire.
‘The van and contents were severely damaged by fire.
‘The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental.’
