POLICE have arrested three men on suspicion of murder after a man died in a Devon town.

Police were called at around 00:45am on Saturday, May 31, following a report a man had been assaulted in Exmouth.

The man was located in the garden of a property in Ashfield Close.

Emergency services attended the location, but, despite the best efforts of paramedics, the 24-year-old local man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

Following the incident, two men in their 20s were located at an address in Hawthorn Grove, Exmouth, and arrested on suspicion of murder.

A third man, also in his 20s, has now been arrested in Exeter on suspicion of murder.

All three suspects remain in custody at this time.

DI Rob Smith from the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: ‘I would like to thank the public for their support so far as we continue to conduct our enquiries.

‘Cordons are likely to remain in place for some time yet, and I’d again like to thank residents affected for their patience and understanding.

‘If anybody living in the area has any concerns, please speak to our officers at the cordon.

‘There will continue to be a heightened police presence in the area as we work to deliver justice for the victim’s family’.
