THE Lawn was alive with the Sound of Music last weekend as Brass on the Grass took place.

It was another event organised by Dawlish Town Council – their third entertainment this month, and hot on the heels of the Classic Car Rally and Alice in Wonderland open air production.

Two bands took part, the South West Comms Band and Torbay Brass Band.

Between the two groups nearly five hours of live music was provided for an enthusiastic audience.

In summer sunshine families were regaled with music from Bond movie themes, classical and traditional tunes.

As well as entertainment, there was good reason for staging the event. During the day which ran from 11am to 4pm a collection raised money for mayor Cllr Lisa Mayne’s chosen charities, Assist Teignbridge, Dawlish Community Transport and Dawlish Celebrates Carnival.
