A FREE cyber security workshop hosted by Teignmouth Town Council will help residents avoid falling foul of scams and other malicious digital attacks.
The event at Bitton House between 10.30am and 11.30am on Monday September 8 will be led by a member of Devon and Cornwall Police’s Cybercrime Unit with presentations designed to help users develop strong passwords.
Other areas set to be explored include data back-ups, updating operating systems, two-factor authentication and two-factor verification.
With 95 per cent of all successful cyber-attacks and scams starting off by an individual making a mistake, the presenter will share some of the scams going around, explain how they work and show how to avoid being caught out.
Although the workshop is free, tickets must be booked. Visit www.teignmouth-devon.gov.uk to book
