Teignbridge road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Teignbridge's motorists will have 17 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Teignbridge's motorists will have 17 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A38, from 6am January 7 to 8pm September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Chudleigh narrow lanes and 50 mph speed limit for drainage works.

A38, from 7pm May 12 to 6am September 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 westbound, Splatford Split, Kennford to Clay Lane, Heathfield carriageway closures for drainage works, diversion via A380 and A383 to Goodstone Cross.

A38, from 6am January 26 to 8pm September 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 westbound, Chudleigh narrow lanes and 50 mph speed limit for drainage works.

A38, from 7am June 6 to 6pm September 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Dart Bridge entry slip road 24hr closure and narrow lanes for horticultural works. Diversion via minor road to Peartree.

A38, from 8pm July 24 to 6am October 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A38 eastbound, Goodstone exit slip road closure 24hrs for carriageway improvements, diversion via A38 eastbound to Drumbridges, A382 and A383.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next seven days:

A38, from 7pm August 1 to 6am September 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A38 eastbound, Drumbridges to Harcombe carriageway closures for drainage works, diversion via A382, B3195 and B3193 for Chudleigh or A382 and A380 for through traffic to Exeter.

A30, from 8pm August 1 to 5am August 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Alphington to Fingle Glen - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting) works.

A30, from 8pm August 4 to 5am August 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Alphington to Fingle Glen - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting) works.

A30, from 8pm August 4 to 5am August 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Cheriton Bishop to Fingle Glen - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting) works.

A30, from 8pm August 5 to 5am August 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Fingle Glen - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting) works.

A30, from 8pm August 8 to 5am August 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Fingle Glen lane closure for vegetation works.

A30, from 8pm August 8 to 5am August 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Ide lane closure for vegetation works.

A30, from 8pm August 10 to 4am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Fingle Glen exit slip road closed for electrical works. Diversion via A30 eastbound to Alphington, junction and Tedburn Road.

A30, from 8pm August 10 to 5am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, between Fingle Glen and Ide lane closure for vegetation works.

A30, from 8pm August 10 to 5am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Alphington lane closure for vegetation works.

A30, from 8pm August 11 to 5am August 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, between Fingle Glen and Ide lane closure for vegetation works.

A30, from 8pm August 15 to 5am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Ide lane closure for vegetation works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
