A TEIGNBRIDGE fire crew was called in to assist with a barn fire in the Broadwoodkelly area.
Chagford Fire Station dispatched personnel to yesterday’s blaze.
The crew joined an already growing collation of firefighters from Hatherleigh, Okehampton, Torrington and Holsworthy.
The combined crew efforts to tackle the fire, however, could not save the barn, which was ‘100% damaged by fire’, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service have said.
The barn, measuring 15 metres by 30 metres, contained various agricultural items.
Crews used three hose reel jets, one main jet, two thermal imaging cameras, four breathing apparatus and two ground monitors during Thursday’s incident [May 22].
