BOTH Black Swan nests in Dawlish have survived Storm Ingrid but they now face another onslaught with an Amber warning of more heavy rain from Storm Chandra.
The Brook running through the town is already high but volunteers from WADE Waterways Around the Dawlish Environment will be monitoring water levels and adjusting sluice gates to control the flow.
One of the nests of mating pari Bert and Kimba is higher up, built on the purpose-built raised island at Tuck’s Plot.
The other is in a spot further up the Brook but nearer the waterline.
Both nests have managed to remain intact despite the adverse weather conditions.
Mr Blue and Mr Pink, the second, less experienced, breeding pair, now have three eggs on their nest.
And downstream, Bert and Kimba are now sitting on six eggs.
