A STREET in a Devon town was cordoned off on Sunday after a suspected ordnance was found.
Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police were called to a property in Warren Road, Torquay, at around half past three on Sunday, September 28.
Nearby residents were promptly evacuated and a 50-metre cordon was put in place.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘The Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team attended the scene, made the item safe and removed it.
‘Those residents who left their properties have since been allowed to return’.
