EXPERIENCED train photographer Thomas Mills, of Dawlish, tells a tale of two very different visitors to our South Devon coastline.

He took these striking pictures at Dawlish on Saturday, featuring great nostalgia from the age of steam and the more modern diesel engines.

He features the West Coast Railways’ Class 47s Nos 47746 Chris Fudge and BR Two Tone Green Class 47/8 No 47815 Great Western TNT The Northern Belle Set From, Birmingham International to Paignton and return.

On the Same day LSL ran a Sapos Rail Tour from, Crewe to Kingswear and return, as B.R Standard Class 7 No 70000 Britannia Headed the English Riviera Express, the Britannia Came on at Taunton, and headed the tour down to Kingswear and return back to Taunton, before LSL Class 47s hauled the tour back to Crewe.
