A HIGHLY anticipated event in Teignmouth’s calender certainly did not disappoint as it is estimated more than 30,000 people attended the three day, high-octaine event.

Teignmouth Airshow 2022 came back with a bang this past weekend, drawing huge crowds from far and wide who eagerly gazed up at the skies to catch a glimpse of some of the aeroplanes on display.

Team Raven, The Starlings, RAF Lancaster and, of course, RAF Red Arrows thrilled audiences on Saturday, July 2.

Vice chairman of Teignmouth Airshow Committee, Rob Phipps, said: ‘The airshow was really successful and we had a fantastic turnout.’

Teignmouth Airshow CIC events and marketing director, Amy Furlong, said: ‘The committee were overwhelmed with the support the town gave us to make the event happen.

‘Of course, a few weeks ago we were £20,000 short and we ended up with some great sponsorship.

‘We had some gold sponsors who were PES Plant & Sales, Nevada Construction and PMS Maritime who all stepped forward to make the event happen.

‘The town was just absolutely buzzing all weekend, it was great to see so many people out enjoying themselves.

‘We hope we can make Teignmouth Airshow an annual event for our town.’

Bass Beatz Productions were on hand to provide live music across the weekend.

The weekend also featured a classic car rally, which was held on Sunday, July 3, with such vehicles as a Ford Granada Ghia Coupe, Honda S800, Borgward and more on display on the Den for all to see.
