A STUNNING shot by Newton Abbot photographer Antony Christie features in the 2024 Great Western Railway Calendar.

Antony chose one of the most picturesque railway lines in the country for his entry, capturing a Class 150 train with the sun-drenched Carbis Bay as its backdrop.

Railway photographer Antony is renowned for his shots of trains travelling through some of the south-west’s most picturesque landmarks, but this one from the coastal path looking back towards Carbis Bay station is one of his most iconic.

He said: ‘It’s such a nice part of the world because you can not only ride the train, but there’s also some nice walks right alongside the branch line.

‘There are so many positions where you can stop to get some great pictures.’

From Cornwall to the Cotswolds, and London to South Wales, the 2024 Great Western Railway Calendar inspires new adventures as it captures the region in all its glory.
