TEIGNMOUTH Film Society returns with another movie night on Friday, March 18.
Shine is based on the the true story of the troubled child prodigy and concert pianist, David Helfgott (1947-).
The pressures of performance and family trauma (the family are Holocaust survivors) lead to David suffering a mental breakdown.
But, with the help of his music and others who care for him, David is eventually able to piece his life back together.
It has been described as ‘A moving and uplifting testament to the power of love and human resilience’
Shine’ (PG) will be screened at Trinity School, Buckeridge Road, TQ14 8LY, on Friday, March 18, at 8pm. Doors open from 7pm and tickets cost £5 for members and non-members alike.
