THERE has been a sharp increase in Covid cases in Teignbridge over the past seven days.

Between March 3 and 9 March, 840 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 53.0% compared to the previous seven days.

Between March 3 and 9 there have been three deaths in the district within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

Between March 2 and 8 there have been 16,686 tests.

In the latest figures available, Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust reports there were 19 patients in hospital with coronavirus on March 1 with no-one on a mechanical ventilator.
