Sharp drop in Covid cases but death toll rises

A SHARP drop in Covid cases has been recorded in Teignbridge over the past week, however there has been a rise in deaths

The latest government figures show that between between March 31 and April 6, 1,110 people had a confirmed positive test result.

This shows a decrease of -31.5% compared to the previous seven days.

Between March 31 and April 6, there have been 16 deaths in Teignbridge within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.

The Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust reports there were 71 patients in hospital with coronavirus on March 29. none of them was on a mechanical ventilator.
