THE Teignmouth seafront Captain’s Table restaurant has been officially opened by town Mayor, Cllr Iain Palmer.
In what will be his last official function as Teignmouth Mayor, Cllr Palmer said it had given him great pleasure to perform the officially opening of the well known eaterie (formerly the Beachcomber) which opens for business tomorrow, Monday.
He said: ‘It was lovely to be able to welcome Peter and his team to the seafront business.
‘They have modernised and completely refurbished the building with a takeaway leading from the Den and an entrance to the restaurant on the main Upper Den, investing in the town and employing local people.
‘So, we wish them all the best in their venture.
‘As you can see it’s Dog friendly, so cookie was happy.’
'It’s all disabled friendly with a lift which of course Iain had to make sure it worked.
Beautiful views,' said Mayoress Jackie Palmer.
‘The food was delicious,’ they both said.
The Captain's Table will be opening tomorrow, Monday, May 15, from 9am to 9pm.
‘This is the last official function that we have done now as the new council will meet on Tuesday evening, for the first council meeting since the election. The Mayor and deputy Mayor will be elected to office,' said Cllr Palmer.
