ANYONE walking through Newton Abbot’s Courtnenay Street on Thursday evening could have been forgiven for thinking they had stumbled on a great robbery!
A safe was hauled over to the upstairs window of the former Invertaire Building and lowered onto a waiting lorry outside...
But it was all part of a well-rehearsed manoeuvre to help speed up the move of the team from the Mid-Devon Advertiser into their new home at 47 Courtenay Street.
Specialist company Trident Safes had to be called in to carry out the operation that went like clockwork, watched by a few spectators who admired their handiwork.
As work goes on apace to get the building ready, the Mid-Devon Advertiser staff hope to move in later in the month. We have left the offices at the Old Manor House, 63 Wolborough Street. Don’t worry, we’ll still be in town. Contact us on the numbers and email addesses below!
