SADLY, Transport Police have confirmed a person died at Newton Abbot Railway Station last night, Wednesday.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed this morning: ‘Officers were called to Newton Abbot station at 5.20pm last night (May 3) followingreports of a casualty on the tracks.
‘Paramedics also attended however, sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
‘The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.’
There was a large presence of emergency services as crews of firefighters, paramedics and police dealt with the incident.
Trains were cancelled or delayed for the rest of the evening.
