A ROAD near the A38 was temporarily closed on Monday, June 23 while police dealt with a man believed to be in a ‘mental health crisis’.
Officers were called shortly after 9am following a report of a male shouting and being intimidating on Fore Street, Buckfastleigh.
Officers attended the scene and located the man on Strode Road, which was closed during the duration of the incident.
The road reopened at around midday.
Devon & Cornwall Police said the man ‘appeared to be in a mental health crisis’.
‘The man was detained and handed over to paramedics’ a spokesperson for the force said.
