Drivers in and around Teignbridge will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A38, from 9pm July 21 to 2am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Peartree to Ashburton - lane closure by Wales and West Utilities for installation/removal of closure on Whistley Hill for gas mains replacement works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A38, from 8pm August 26 to 6am August 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 westbound, Dart Bridge exit slip carriageway closure for barrier works, diversion via Drybridge and return.

A38, from 6pm August 28 to 7am August 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Linhay exit slip road lane closure leading to 4-way traffic lights to facilitate 3rd party lamp post erection works.

A30, from 9pm September 1 to 6am September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 30 to junction 31 lane closure for electrical works.

A38, from 7pm September 3 to 6am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Clay Lane exit slip closure for carriageway reconstruction/renewal works, diversion via - A38, B3344, B3193.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
