A ‘FANTASTIC opportunity’ is how a moorland fire crew described their recently training at their local swimming pool.

The crew from Moretonhampstead Fire Station recently made the short journey to the town’s popular outdoor pool for some training.

‘It was a fantastic opportunity to get hands on with the equipment that we have to deal with water rescue emergencies’, said a spokesperson for the station.

‘The station would like to thank the pool committee for allowing us the use of the pool before it closes its door for the season’, added the spokesperson.

Moretonhampstead Community Swimming Pool is a 25 metre, outdoor pool heated by renewable energy.

Each year, it opens May to September.
