FIREFIGHTERS tackled a property fire in South Brent on Saturday afternoon after receiving reports of smoke coming from a home.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was alerted just after 1.30pm on July 4, mobilising crews from Buckfastleigh, Ivybridge and Modbury.

On arrival, firefighters confirmed smoke was issuing from the rear of the property.

Crews used two breathing apparatus sets, a hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera, a safety jet and a positive pressure ventilation fan to bring the fire under control.

The fire is believed to have been accidental, the fire service have said.

No injuries have been reported.
