POLICE dog Ken has been in a action again, this time sniffing out trouble in Ashburton.

He was part of Ashburton Neighbourhood Team’s busy day as part of Operation Spotlight, a roads safety intervention day.

Officers identified a vehicle and once it had stopped, the driver was quick to confirm he was disqualified from driving, the vehicle had no valid Insurance or MOT.

Police Dog Ken was put to work and sniffed out a quantity of cannabis inside the vehicle.

The driver was subsequently drug swipe tested at the road-side and found to be positive for cannabis use.

A police spokesman said Ken got a well-deserved toy for his work.
