POLICE dog Ken proved to be a ‘big hit’ with pupils at Bovey Tracey Primary School as local police share a ‘snapshot’ of their week.
PD Ken, pictured, visited reception and Year 1 pupils at the school as part of Ashburton and Chudleigh Policing Team’s work engaging with the community.
Elsewhere, officers seized a vehicle in the town that was being used by a disqualified driver, engaged with a man living in a tent to ensure the proper support is in place and attended several meetings in and around the area.
They also visited a property in Moretonhampstead subject to a closure order to ensure the order is being complied with.
Enquiries into fly-tipping in the area have also been made.
Officers also engaged with a young male involved in shoplifting, as well as another young person caught riding an electric scooter in Mill Marsh Park.
‘Alongside this, we have carried out hours of foot patrol and have been busy preparing case files and progressing investigations behind the scenes as well as supporting response teams by attending immediate calls’, a spokesperson for the team said.
‘Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to speak with us this week.
‘If you see us out and about, please come and say hello’, the spokesperson added.
