PART of Dawlish sea wall damaged by recent storms is expected to reopen on Sunday.
Engineers working on repairs say the stretchalong the old sea wall between Dawlish (Coastguards breakwater) and Rockstone footbridge is due to reopen from approximately 10am on Sunday, April 12.
A spokesman said: ‘Our original plan was to reopen tomorrow, but we now need to take away materials by rail overnight on Saturday.
‘We’re sorry for any disappointment.
‘The stretch between Rockstone footbridge and Langstone/Red Rock will remain closed while we continue our repair work.
‘We expect to reopen it on the early May Bank Holiday weekend Saturday May 2.
‘Please don’t attempt to climb over the gates – they are in place to keep everyone safe.
