GOODS stolen from a Newton Abbot retailer were successfully recovered and returned following the town's CCTV team's timely intervention.

The team identified a female who had they noticed had stolen some products from a local retail store in the town.

Police officers located and detained her in the town and recovered all the items back, which were returned to the store undamaged.

The female has subsequently been banned from the store for life.

'Visible patrols throughout the town centre whilst working in partnership with the local CCTV provide an effective response and deterrence for shoplifting and anti-social behaviour throughout the town centre.' a spokesperson for Newton Abbot Police said.

'It’s safe to say that the CCTV team are always watching' the spokesperson added.
