A DENTAL practice in Dawlish is trialling a new NHS programme to help those in desperate need of treatment.
For one day, there will be six slots available to patients for what is being described as a ‘dental stabilisation programme’.
Nuvo Dental in Queen Street has launched the scheme to help patients in pain and in need of treatment.
A spokesman said: ‘This is a program for non registered patients in pain or in need of treatment, to help you get dentally fit, it does not mean you will be registered at the practice but it is to help take off pressures of dental pain for doctors, hospitals, 111 calls and pharmacists.’
Appointments will be available on Monday June 16 on an NHS basis with six slots available for possible patients.
They will need to also be available on July 14 is further appointments are needed.
To be eligible for one of the appointments, people should not have seen a dentist for at least two years.
They must ben in need of dental work such as fillings and extractions and are not registered anywhere else.
Anyone interested should call the practice but be aware there are limited dates and times available.
