A NEWTON Abbot man has admitted stealing a sword, knives and an air gun during a burglary at a house in Dawlish last month.

Connor Sidell, aged 25, of Neville Road, Newton Abbot, pleaded guilty to a single count of burglary when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court. Judge David Evans adjourned the case and ordered a probation report.

A long list of items stolen in the burglary at Regent Street, Dawlish, on April 7, 2023, was included in the details of the charge which were read out in court.

They were a computer, two laptops, felt tip pens, a glass jar with at least £160 cash, coins, a wallet, bank cards, a driving licence, an autism ID card, shop cards, money, a moon wrap dry robe, two puffer coats, several other coats, a Parkside saw, a large black military issue naval holdall and a military identity card.

Sidell also admitted stealing a variety of weapons. These were an air gun, a Bowie knife, two large Kukri knives, a short sword and sheath, two spring assisted knives and a short blade camping knife.

Judge Evans adjourned sentence until May 25 and told Sidell: 'This is probably going to be immediate imprisonment.'
