PLANS to replace a busy junction between Chudleigh and Kingsteignton with a roundabout is still under a formal review process, Devon County Council (DCC) has said.
The proposed, temporary roundabout at Clay Lane remains under a formal review process and only once approval has been obtained would any work be scheduled, the council has said.
But should the scheme be approved, the work will take approximately two days to complete, with the diversion route remaining open throughout.
DCC’s traffic modelling has shown that this will ease the traffic at this location while the A382 closure is in place.
The roundabout would be temporary for the duration of the A382 work and removed once it is complete.
A 30mph speed limit would be in place on the approaches to the roundabout to provide safe and sufficient visibility.
The 30mph speed limit would then be lifted as soon as the roundabout is removed.
