THE site of a former Chudleigh Knighton pub ravaged by fire a decade ago is set for a new lease of life as proposals for new homes are given the go ahead by planners.
The planning application - reference 23/01853/FUL - sought permission to redevelop the former Anchor Inn site to create four new dwellings, including three, two-storey homes and the conversion of an existing barn.
Three dwellings will have three bedrooms and one dwelling, the converted barn, will have two bedrooms.
‘The proposal seeks to bring the vacant brownfield site back into use by redeveloping it to create four high quality dwellings with associated private gardens, car parking and landscaping’, the planning statement for 23/01853/FUL says.
And Teignbridge Council have granted planning permission, albeit subject to conditions, namely the submission of further documentation, including a Construction Management Plan.
‘The development hereby permitted shall begin before the expiry of three years from the date of this permission’, the council said.
The Anchor Inn was severely damaged by fire in March 2015 and was demolished soon after.
