NEWTON Abbot Museum will briefly close next week as it takes down its summer display.

The popular museum, which is located in Newton’s Place, will close on Tuesday, September 2.

It will reopen the following day Wednesday, September 3.

The closure is to allow staff to dismantle its summer display.

‘Thank you for your understanding’, the museum said.

Newton Abbot Museum hosted an array of free activities this summer, including the Young Curators’ Club Summer Holiday Club and the Thursday Summer Craft sessions.

The summer activities programme ran alongside the museum’s regular offerings.

With more than 17,000 objects within the museum collection, it has many interesting and unusual objects to see.

Popular favourites include the Railway area with working signals and the Early History area.
