A MOTHER and son have been sentenced for running a drug dealing operation at their home in Exeter.

Jayne Warren, aged 56, and Jake Warren, aged 31, both of Bennett Square, Exeter, were sentenced at Exeter Crown Court on Tuesday, November 18 for their part in a drug operation.

The pair pleaded guilty to offences relating to the supply of Class A and B drugs including cocaine and cannabis, leading to Jake Warren being jailed and Jayne Warren receiving a three-year community order.

Detectives from the proactive team who target drug-related crime and other serious offending, carried out a warrant at the family home in Bennett Square in March 2025.

After raiding the property, officers seized over £22,000 in cash located in various locations around the property.

A significant amount of cannabis and cocaine was also discovered stashed in a box in their garden.

Officers also located a full set-up for preparing drugs in their spare bedroom.

In total the amount of drugs located at the property had a potential street value of approximately £33,000.

Mobile phones were also seized and Jake Warren’s fingerprints were found on drugs packaging found at the property.

Further investigative work was carried out resulting in police retrieving CCTV footage from the local post office which showed Jayne Warren depositing large sums of cash several times a week.

The money was laundered for her son before being transferred over to him.

Both mother and son were charged with drug and money laundering offences in March 2025.

Jayne Warren pleaded guilty to money laundering and permitting her property to be used for purposes of drug supply and was sentenced to a three-year community order including 240 hours of unpaid work.

Jake Warren pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs and possessing criminal property and was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.

Officer in the case, DC Rosie Garnett said: ‘This investigation highlights how different generations of the same family became embroiled in the drug trade and benefited from the profits.

‘It was clear that the mother dealt with the business side of the operation while her son distributed the drugs.

‘Both had chosen to engage in the sale of drugs which has resulted in today’s outcome’.
