THERE is under a month to go before runners from far and wide descend upon Chudleigh for its annual road race.

The Chudleigh Carnival Road Race, which takes place on Friday, July 15, at 7.30pm, is an annual race of around six miles with one and half of those miles being of an incline.

The race, which is being sponsored by the Bishop Lacy Inn, starts at Fore Street outside the aforementioned public house before completing a loop around the town centre.

The route then exists Chudleigh via the southern end and winds its way up and along the Chudleigh ridge before dropping back into the town at the opposite end for a sprint to the finish line outside the Bishop Lacy.

Numerous prizes will be up for grabs, including prizes for various age categories as well as team prizes and 1st local male and female: the first, second and third placed females and males will be awarded sports shop vouchers.

Competitors, who must be at least 15 years of age, will receive a t-shrt for participating.
