A MAN facing eight charges, including four of assaulting police officers, has been sent for trial at the Crown Court.
Joshua Clifford Kettle, aged 27, of no fixed address, appeared before South and West Devon Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody for a trial at Exeter Crown Court on March 9.
He is charged with maliciously causing grievous bodily harm to a woman in Newton Abbot on February 5.
He is also accused of carrying a blade or sharply pointed article – scissors – in a public place, St Paul’s Road, Newton Abbot.
He has been charged with threatening unlawful violence to a person in Newton Abbot and a further charge of assault causing actual bodily harm to a man in St Paul’s Road, Newton Abbot.
He faces four further charges of assaulting emergency workers, two female and two male police officers, by beating in Torquay.
