A garden shed has been completely destroyed by a fire that broke out in Teignmouth in the early hours of the morning.

The alarm was raised just after 2am on Monday, August 3. Two appliances from Teignmouth Fire Station were called out to Fourth Avenue, where the gardens of two houses were involved in the blaze.

On arrival the fire crews found that the flames had spread to trees, fences and a shed.

They used a hose reel jet and a 51-mm jet to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading any further towards the properties in the street.

However, the shed was beyond saving.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service said the fire is not thought to have been started deliberately.
