AN extra pair of hands, or serveral, are being called for as a village on Dartmoor is preparing to plant as many as 40 trees.

Parishioners from Widecombe-in-the-Moor are gearing up to plant their ‘Jubilee Orchard’, hitherto known as the Parish Field, at 10am on Saturday, Jnauary 28 and organisers are inviting people to get involved.

In addition to helping plant trees, there is also a felled sycamore which needs dispatching.

Refreshments will be provided on the day and, all being well, the planting is hoped to be completed by the noon.
