SEVERAL fire crews, including those from Buckfastleigh, came together to tackle a property fire in Malborough this past week.

The incident, which took place in the evening hours of Thursday, February 1, saw crews from Buckfastleigh, Kingsbridge, Kingston, Ivybridge, Salcombe and Totnes converge on a property in the village of Malborough.

As the property was well alight upon arrival, the Incident Commander (IC) 'made pumps 6', which allowed for more appliances with Breathing Apparatus (BA) gear.

'Crews got to work using multiple BA teams at stage two' a spokesman for Buckfastleigh Fire Station said.

'Once BA operations were no longer needed crews began removing sections of the roof to expose hot spots in the loft space and further dousing flames' the spokesman added.

Investigation is underway as to the cause of the incident.
