AFTER a gap in Covid figures for Christmas 52 new people in Teignbridge had a confirmed positive test result reported on Monday, December 27.

According to the latest Government figures this means that between December 21 and 27, 800 people had a confirmed positive test result.

This shows an increase of 15.6% compared to the previous seven days.

Healthcare in Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust:

One person with coronavirus went into hospital on December 19.

So between December 13 and 19, 18 people went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows a decrease of -30.8% compared to the previous seven days.

There were 25 patients in hospital with coronavirus on December 21. There were two coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on December 21.

Deaths in Teignbridge:

There were no deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on December 27.

But between December 21 and 27 there have been three deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 200% compared to the previous seven days.
